Work History Timeline

1980s

Harry started in the industry in 1980, working with Lou Bateman Trucking & Services cutting trees for firewood. In 1982 he started a residential lawn care and tree service in Ocala, and from 1982 to 1989 worked with local tree companies including Better Than Ever, Tropical Tree, and Lester Raines as a freelance climber while running that small tree service.

1990s

In 1990 Harry worked as a freelance climber for various companies. From 1993 to 1996 he worked for Craig Conrad's Tree Surgeons as a climber and bucket operator. From 1999 to 2003 he worked for Pasco Tree Service in Hudson, Florida, Ken's Tree Service in Tarpon Springs, and 7 Rivers Tree Service in Port Richey.

2000s

From 2004 to 2008 Harry worked freelance, along with Conrad's Tree Service and Marion Tree Trimming. From 2009 to 2017 he ran Harry J. Doyle Enterprises, Boca Raton Tree, and freelanced for Delray Tree Service.

2010s

In 2018 Harry started Tree Services Pro Inc, focused on tree risk and health management. He earned his ISA Certified Arborist credential (FL-9539A) in 2019, adding a recognized, standards-based framework to decades of field experience.

2020s

In 2022 Harry closed his company due to Covid and a heart-related illness, and moved back to his hometown of Ocala. From 2022 to 2024 he worked part-time with Arbor Plan, then worked for Juan Sanchez Tree Service in Spring Hill, Florida from 2024 to 2025. He founded ArborManagers in 2025.

From The Arborist

I worked for years in the tree service industry just trying to earn a living while doing something I enjoyed. It afforded me the opportunity to raise a family and minister to many people. I can't say I always understood the real value of trees, because the value for me was mainly tied to income for my family and relationships with people. There were other valuable benefits of trees that weren't at the forefront of my endeavors.

However, after about 15 years of managing tree growth and health, working with other companies, the purpose of the methodologies they were utilizing began to emerge. In other words, it all had sunk in and was coming out. I was beginning to understand why I was doing what I was doing and started automatically teaching others, without even realizing I was doing it. Because of that and the fact that I could not provide the best service for my clients and community without understanding more about a tree's biology, I decided to educate myself. I bought books and studied, and I asked a lot of questions from the arborists who came before me.

Even though I was seeking to educate myself, I struggled with the idea that an arborist needed to be ISA certified. We often do that with things we don't understand. In my mind it was a money gimmick, or a way to control the market, like a power grab. I later realized, like with many honest programs, it was a way for people to take control of their decision process, and help others do the same, and make the community better overall. But it was also a way for me to grow in my understanding of the function of trees, the health and environmental problems they face, and the risk they present, especially in urban landscapes.

I remember someone I had trained to some degree in the tree care industry becoming a certified arborist. He explained to me his reasoning, and said it's all things you know, things you taught me. I was already doing assessments based on my years of knowledge but had no real way of consistently documenting my findings, and I really only had a general understanding of tree biology, and certainly wasn't the best at tree identification. So, in 2019, I took the test and was certified by the ISA. I have to say, it was a bit of a proud moment, even though I didn't show that to anyone.

Once certified, I started taking my work more seriously than ever. I wanted to take this newfound knowledge base to the world, and help as many people and trees as possible. I didn't always have the time to study because of field labor, but every moment I could get, I would research and study. One thing is for sure. It seems like I retain about 25% each time I study, and some things I still have to look up. But I know where to look now. I know why I'm looking, and how to look. That's a game changer for me, and for the people I serve.

Technology is one of the tools that helps me expedite the learning process. I've decided to use technology to help me with the client process as well. I started coding back in 2007, and developed websites and software over the years. It makes sense for me to create tools that will, hopefully, help me serve my customers and the community more efficiently. It's been an amazing adventure of shared experiences that God has brought me through, and I'm excited to see what we will do next, and I look forward to serving my community in greater ways than ever.
